Default 400 At Chattering Noise

I was wondering if anyone else had heard a chattering noise coming from the engine? I took mine in and they said that it was fine. I stil wasn't satisfied so they ended up adjusting the valve on it. It still makes the same chattering sound or clatter. Has anyone else had this problem and is it normal?

My Foreman also sounds like that, it's coming from the bottom end of the engine, to the right side ..

I "think" it's normal, because I've split the engine apart and found nothing unusual except for a worn cylinder ..
I rebuilt the top end .. but it still have a chattering sound .. It doesn't sound like the valves, but I don't worry anymore ..
The engine is terribly powerful and doesn't burn oil . . ..

I use a blend of Honda oil and mix it with Synthetic . . ..

My engine doesn't smoke or burn any oil. It only has 135 miles on it. So you think that the sound is norml?

Seems I hear that sound a little when cruising at a high rpm on our ATs. Not worried about it especially since others are reporting the same.

Mine sounded the same way - that is until I opened the crank and removed the gerbil.....

I have also experienced the chattering noise, I was beginning to think I was crazy because I have been complaining to the service department about it only to be told I was wrong. They did adjust the valves once but now I am having white smoke discharge and the exhaust smells terrible, as in burning oil. I have 250 miles on my AT and have a Rancher 350ES 4x4 with >1000 miles that makes no noise, has no oil burning and runs like a dream.
I have been contacting Honda Service on a weekly basis and am now going to take it to another dealer. I think there should be alarm amongst AT owners as we all know that "rattling" noises out of an engine are not normal and only can mean problems, especially for those that didn't buy extended warrenties.
Please keep updating this tread so all lAT owners can stay informed.

My friend has 700 miles on his and it chatters as well. But it runs like a champ. No smoke or nothing. I hope that you can get it cleared up. Is there a phone# that you can give me to call honda services department? Thanks

What do you guys think the problem is? Someone told me that it's the way that the clutch discs were cut or something like that. So it is normal?
