Never mind I thought this was the post with the 300 pound rider. Get a 400EX I love mine.

Get a used Yamaha Blaster and ride the wheels/plastic and anything else you can find off of it. 400EX would probably pull too much for you and legitametly is a 370lb. machine. You won't be able to throw it around if you get into trouble. You could after you develop your skill riding level. Trust me man, you don't want to get hurt. I know a guy in a wheel chair for the rest of his life cause he wanted to push the envelope. Ride something within your capability.

my kids find the 400 much easier to ride than the blaster the 400 is a great beginner quad, the engine is great for first timers and yet it will have good power when you learn and you will learn fast and then you would be stuck with something that won't do what you want if you get a small machine.

Sandman has a good point. I guess alot depends on where you ride. It is pretty hard to screw up in a open field or on some dunes unless you flip it or come up short on a hill......... Just until you are comfortable with what ever you end up with, ride it out in the open and work on turning and running it thru the gears before you try doing trails, jumps, dunes, etc. Become comfortable with the machine. Also, if you are riding somewhere new, make sure you go thru where you are going to be riding nice and slow the first few times, so you know what to expect. I can't tell you how many times I have come off a jump or over a hill or around a corner and found a surprise. Just take it easy and remember wear a helmut, no alcohol and if you can get women to let you take nude pictures of them on your quad forward those on to me at tom_hishon@decoma.com

106 lb rider would get THROWN around on a 400ex.
I dont see how everyone here is saying get something bigger..
Im 6'4" 170lbs and the 400ex is more than enough, and I ride with piped raptors and banshees and I never have problems keeping up with them.

i would definitely go with the 400. They're much easier to ride than blasters and less maintenance. You shouldn't have a problem with controlling the 400 if you dont go too crazy with it.

Listen Guys, haven't we whipped this thing to death? Shouldn't we be focusing on important things like getting women to let us take nude photos of them on our quads and forwarding them on to tom_hishon@decoma.com? Let's try to serve the higher good here.....

Im 14 and my uncle said that 2 strokes are high maintenance and not reliable thats why ive been looking for 4 strokes. My friend let me ride his mojave and its pretty good. I just need a quad that can beat a mojave.
