I cannot believe this! Me and xr80rampage were riding yesterday at a strip pit, when after some water riding my Recon wouldn't run any at all above idle without the choke. We somehow got back to his house and changed the oil, and getting my hand covered in hot oil in the process. Then, since we had to ride the choke to get there, we checked to see how fouled the plug was. I got it out and it looked almost new, so I went to put it back in, long story short, I cross-threaded the plug, and stripped the hole. So, I called my dad (who by the way was a little pissed for having to come over at night) and he came and picked it up. He went to a few hardware shops to buy an aluminum tap for the right size, and finall found one. He got the threads fixed today, and while he was at it I had him put a new plug in it, and clean the carb(I think this it was causing the original problem). It's back to normal now, so I can ride, but I missed a whole day of riding!

The sparkplug threads were cross threaded on my xr 80. The guy i bought it off of screwed them right up. I also had to get a tap out kit. That was a major **** off.

I was freaked out a little. I would have had to save up and buy a new head if it couldn't be re-threaded. I guess I wasn't really scared because I could have rode my dirt-bike,or one of our go-carts while I was saving up my cash.
