1997 Fourtrax 250 Dipstick
I just bought a 97 Fourtrax for my son. The machine is in decent shape but has passed through a number of hands. I am very suspicious of the dipstick in the machine as it looks too long. Pictures in the shop manual reinforce my concern but the manual does not give me a length.
Could someone with the same machine give me the proper length of the dipstick? I would hate to run the machine low or over filled with oil.

1997 Fourtrax 250 Dipstick
You don't hear it called Fourtrax 250 to often but the approximate length of the dipstick is four and three quarters inches long when measured from top to bottom and yes it does look long. Also when checking the oil you do not screw it in but just sit it on top of the threads. I do not have the owners manuel in front of me but its about 1.7 qts of oil.
