Anyone have the service manual pages for removing/installing the flywheel which they can kindly email, fax, etc? Thanks! Service manuals are impossible to find right now.

Ok...need some help here. I am not mechanically ignorant (not totally anyway), but would like more details on this since one thing I have little to no experience in is the bottom end of these things. I want to put in my new advanced timing key from Curtis Sparks, but would like exact details on getting to and getting off the flywheel.

Can someone who has done this please give step-by-step instructions? I can't even tell how much I need to remove to get to it. (Don't have a picture, etc.) What is the off-color bolt in the center of the cover and another one at top left of the cover too? Thanks!!

the bolt in the center is so you can remove it and put a wrench on the crank nut and turn the engine over, and the other bolt is simply an inspection hole so you can see when the piston is at top-dead-center (when the mark on the crank is aligned with the other mark). Other than that, I'd just say start pulling stuff apart and see where you get, but maybe that's not the best advice?

I got the cover off... Just pull all the bolts off and the one nut along with the 4 bolts on the ignition gear casing. Tap the cover on top and the side with a rubber mallet firmly but softly. The seal will brake and the cover slides off... Is the flywheel bolt reverse threaded?

I don't have my manual with me, but I do know that you need a flywheel puller to get the flywheel out. It costs about $20 from Honda.

Alright dudes got that flywheel off last night.. What you need is an 1 1/2# cresent wrench and the 17mm nut on an impact wrench.. I will get into details with the new post "400ex advanced timing key"
