any thoughts on 440 kit without different cam/porting or carb?

thinking of just adding a 440 sleeve to my ex and also a pipe, would it make a big difference? I don't want to have to get a carb and hardened rockers for a different cam. has anyone tried just the 440 sleeve and a pipe?
thanks

If you keep stock cam then keep compression around 10-1.You should see very strong gains in low-mid with a moderate gain on top.If you plan on a cam later keep in mind you will also need to bump compression up to 10.5-1 or 11-1 which means another piston and ring set.If you are definitely not going the cam route then I strongly recommend spending money on having head ported and polished to maximize flow to compliment additional cc's.Stock carb is plenty fine for big bore kits used in trails and dunes but if stronger top end for race or high speed dune running then you will want the cam and bigger carb as well.

Demp is right. But w/ my 440 i got the midrange kit w/10:1 piston and a midrange cam. It is hellofast and i am neck to neck with a stock banshee. Porting makes the world of difference. my aint ported and i got absolutely smoked by a guy that had a 426 kit w/ an awesome port job. Not just any porting will do either, ya gotta have someone that is good and is willing to put effort into it. someone that cares about your performance. you can check out my bike at my site.
