I believe the new c6 vettes have the 6L, but the 04 z06 still has the 5.7 like the rest of the c5 line. The new z06, when it comes out, will have the 6L and push around 500hp.

 

500hp out of the c6 z06 if they make it is pushing it, i would guess more around 430-450max

 

No, its my daily driver so i dont want to risk it, you know what i mean. Thats why i like to modify my quad and run nos. I also have a 1991 GT convertiable with a brand new jasper motor in it, well i have put 5,000 miles on it, rebuilt tranny with shift kit, 3:73 ratio, Cold air, new top and motor, and new suspension. I dont drive it because i cant afford to insure both mustangs at age 21.

 

Well that is what has been leaking from GM and around the press and net. Unlike the atv world, the automotive journalists actually have a clue what they are talking about every once in a while.

Its not that far fetched either. The last z06 was 55hp more than the base model, so that would put you around 460 since the c6 is rated at the same 405 the last z06 had.

do you even know what you're talking about?! The only reason ford can keep up with a 5.7l. Camaro SS is because they threw a supercharger on it....Every year before that, the cobra was getting womped on...It was only after Ford gave the Cobra to the Special Vehicle Teams (SVT) did the cobra become a real beast. Don't get me wrong, Id take a cobra ANY day...they're monsters...but Chevy built a Naturally aspired beast...I'm sure if I took a honda civic, and put a big enough turbo, or a large enough supercharger on it I could run 12's...but where's the respect in that? thats easy....that 5.7's an awesome engine...

and no, im not specifically a chevy or ford guy...I own a Ford Lightning, and a Chevy Diesel....And yes...I give more credit to dodge for making a faster NA truck than my S/C lightning...(srt-10)

 

Well theres a couple little cars with turbos, but i guess that was wrong too.... and there definatly not running 12.s. Sounds like your a unrealstic chevy fan, sticking with that whole ss thing. My Gt will give a SS A nice run, beleive me i have raced them. You keep holding on to that whole SS thing you got going on. You know its a shame that ford has to give chevy the advantage of having a lighter car and much bigger engine, just to keep up with a little 4.6 L . If ford went to a bigger engine, Chevy would be sh#ting bricks

 

the new 05 base modle corvette is now listed at 405hp so you know the z06 will b atleat 50hp over that...atleast.

also i know that those numbers from ford are a little under what they really are. i am yet to see a cobra listed under 12.8, but im still looking. at 26000 and a high 12qm it is worth the price and its a great car, with some slight mods i can see it hitting high 10s or low 11s.
i would love to own a cobra . the srt10 ram is a monster and for 45g's its a bargin

thats exactly right bro.....IF ford went to a bigger engine...but they didn't. And they never will. 2nd place finish for 2nd rate material.

 

if chevy supercharged... fords would look slow.

the corvette and the cobra arnt even in the same class really. mustang is a pony car corvettes are track cars. the mustang will never handle like a vette on the track, it was never made to.

in a straight line the vette and the cobra are even but when you add the curves the vette is better... atleast that is what i think.

i would love to own either one of these cars, but i dont have the money.
right now im working on gettting a nice v8 for my s10 then supercharging that.
