Default transmission, and such

Hey guys i found a quad for a really good price and it needs a 2nd and 3rd gear i think(they grind in second and third). any one tell me how hard this would be? and how expensive? thanks guys. Oh i posted in the honda forum because your the most intellegent[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img]

wow, how about next time you give it more time bud? some people have lives ya know...
Anyway, it really depends on what is the problem. It could be something as simple as bent shift forks. Or, it could be the the 2nd, and 3rd gears are completely toasted. If that is the problem, look into replacing all bearings in the lower end, metal shavings wreack havock on a motor. Unless the machine is rediculously low priced, I wouldnt even consider it, unless the current owner fixes it first. In the worst case scenario, you will be looking at posibly a few thousand in repairs, considering I doubt you would be doing the work yourself.
