HONDA 250X REVERSE

WHY WHEN I LET THE CLUTCH OUT IN REVERSE THE BIKE CUTS OFF? SEEMS LIKE THE IGNITION SHUTS OFF. IS THERE A SWITCH OR SOMETHING FOR THIS? IT SEEMS TO GO IN BUT WHEN YOU TRY TO RELEASE THE CLUTCH IT DIES?

Put the bike in reverse, engine not running - in fact I'd even pull the spark plug, then turn the engine over slowly. This is to see if the transmission is locked up in reverse. If you meet any resistance, stop & be prepared to live without reverse or dig deeper. The only thing that is electrical that is connected to the clutch or reverse is the reverse light. Is it comming on when you engage reverse?
