I'm in the market for a winch. Would a Warn A2000 be enough or would the A2500 be better? Does anyone make mount kits for the rancher yet? Is it better to fabricate you own mount? Any suggestions?

The size is up to you. I personally have the 2500. Warn themselves make a winch mount along with many other companies. I got both of mine through www.atvpartsdepot.com.

 

A2000 and A2500 have identical motors and geartrains.

I got the 2000 Warn through Cabellas.com --- $299.00. Mount AND roller fairlead $59.99. Took 3 shipping days to get it via UPS. The mount is really cool, all one piece.
Now I just GOTTA GO GET STUCK!!!!!!!!!!

 

I would go w/ the 2000l lb. due to the fact that the winch has a stall load of 2000 lb. and you have a quad that weighs 500 lbs. Even with you, a passenger, and gear the winch could still pull you out........and if it cant just get a ****** block and double the line strength.
