Default 400 EX rear bearing problem.

I have a 400 EX and I need to replace the rear bearings but they are not coming out very easily. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get them out?

The rear bearings inside of the axel carrier won't come out. I have the repair manual for the 400 EX. How would you pull them out if they are stuck?

I just did mine, they are a pain. I welded a piece of steel to the smaller race of one bearing. You can then knock it out, squarely. When the first one is out, remove the inner pipe/spacer. That will expose the other bearing to knock it out.

Default 400 EX rear bearing problem.

here is a tip:

place the whole carrier in an oven at 200-225 degrees. remove teh carrier and the bearings may just fall right out. if not, they shoudl come out after tapping on it with a piece of wood or something. if that still doesn't work, place them back in the oven for longer.
