Front brakes on a 400ex and brake the chain off

Default Front brakes on a 400ex and brake the chain off

I just took my brakes off my 400 and even though I though I kept my 400 clean they had mud caked on them somone told me to soak them in gas? It seemed to disolve some off any better suggestions would help. Alos what is the best way to brake the stock chain off my 400 there is know link.

Use kerosene or diesel for cleaning up parts shift most things.

As for the chain a grinder is what i use just gringd off the rivited heads of a couple of pins and the side plate will come off with ahammer and screw driver.

u can get chain breakers but iv'e never used one

on all the stock chains ive seen, there is no master link. unless you want to keep the chain, you can use whatever cutting tool you want, but by far, a plasma cutter will get it done QUICK

those little chain breakers are about $20,,,,makes the job quick, easy and neat.
