I just did one after I discovered a leaking base gasket. After $400 for a stator and CDI its still not getting spark. What kind of compression should I be betting?

Well I'm getting about 90. think a new gasket will do the trick? And do you think that this can cause it not to get any spark when kicking it over, but it started when I pull started it. (?)

i think 150 is high.but 90 is defenitely time for new piston and rings-if it started you got spark.

150 is about stock...90 lbs is either a really leaky head gasket, or time for new pistons and rings..if you put a few drops of oil into the cylinder, then run the compression test, and the results go up, you need new rings/piston..

Couldn't it be the base gasket causing low compression since it's leaking?

no, when the motor is creating compression, the ports are closed
