Id try another 1/2 turn out, on the mixture screw, and see if it helps. With cold weather coming on, its bound to help.
How do you like your Kodiak?

 

i really like it, but i ride with my cousin who has a 2000 Honda 450S (NOT ES). I like his just as much, maybe more. mainly, you don't have to stop to shift on his (which can be huge in steep terrain/downshifting situations, both up and downhill). i have a little better turning radius. also, in his low gear, it just mechanically climbs (you know you have a mechanical gear and it's almost like you can feather it to move a couple of teeth at a time), whereas my auto/belt drive seems to react a little differently: in low range on downhill it locks up the tires, i gotta accelerate. just seems wierd to accelerate on a steep downhill, then yer going too fast, let off and it locks up sideways...hard to adjust to that. also, sometimes when you gas an auto/belt drive in big boulders, they seem to suddenly grab and launch, but not on a manual shift model. the belt cover snorkel came off once too, and it's kinda a poor design how it clamps on to the belt cover. my diff lock has helped me get thru some different off-camber stuff where Honda got caught with a wheel in the air. in mud, we both seem to either get stuck or get thru the same stuff. the diff lock has never helped me in the mud.

I am new to the group and just purchased a 2003 Honda Recon 250 TRX Tm.
Been having idle issues similar to WarrenStripes. He said he found a hose that when he blew through it made it run better. What hose was that? I bought this used and have a feeling maybe the hoses are not routed right. I saw the carb diagram and had a question as to where hose 21 went to. I think that might be part of my problem. Any help would be appreciated. I am going on 2 weeks trying to get this running smooth. Thanks!

 

Hey guys,my 2007 recon es has a starting issue,per say. i took it to make dealers and they cleaned out jetting and it worked perfectly for a day. then next day i go to sart it and it doesn't start! i put it on a trickle charge and that didn't work either. Any advice??????
