Default 4-banger, something wrong with motor??

I rebuilt one of my trikes, with new piston, valves, valve springs, and cam chain. When all put back together i can stand right on the kicker and it will barley move down. I used to be able to kick it over with my hand, but now its so hard! I tryed push starting it on tar and all it does is lock up. Im pretty sure I put everything back together right.... So, any ideas as to why its so hard?? Could the new springs and cam chain make it be that hard because thier not broken in and streched yet?

with a brand new motor, you may just have the proper amount of compression now. my 350x, with the compression release removed, is a total beeach to kick over...especially at 10 below zero!

Simple test. Take the plug out and slowly kick it over. Should be easy. If not, does it lock up? If so, double check the cam timing. If you wacked the piston with the valves, even bumped it, the valves are done.
