400 EX plastic?

this may have already come up, but i haven't been browsing atvconnection.com for a while. (too much school work, not enough free time)
does anybody know, will the new 400ex front fenders (the revised front end that looks like the 450r) bolt onto a 200 400ex?
i need new front fenders for next season, and it looks as though the new fenders are independant of each other with that "door-key" (dumb censors) headlight in the niddle (i have the light cut out of my 2000, a a 250r bolted down in place of it)
if the fenders use the same mounting points to the frame, then i'm sure i could come up with a way to mate the fenders to my existing (or a piece of my existing) hood in the center, then i could just replace 1 side of the fenders when needed rather than all the hassle and co$t of the whole front clip.
the new 400 seems to have the same basic "sidepanels" (side of the tank) and fender junction (minus the little holes imprinted in the sidepanels)
does anybody know if my fender idea is doable (as in "do the new fenders use the same mounting points?")
thanks

anybody?
somebody out there has to have a 400 and know someone who bought a new 400 that they can compare it to or something?
or does anybody know how to check and see if the part numbers for the frame (which the plastic mounts to) are the same (identical part #s, meaning the exact same part, no changes) . prob. not because they added reverse, so there's prob some small change cuz of that, but who knows, this may answer the question?
thanks

hi,
i was wondering the same thing. I got down and really looked at the new 400ex plastic. There doesn't seem to be any difference between the two really beside the headlight. I am not shure about if the hookup's would interchange, but as far as the front plastic I think it would fit, because the complete back fender looks to lign up perfect.

i did some homework and checked part #s of the mounting bracket ("f.fender support" i think it is called) and the gas tank, and they are the same #s on the 05 and earlier years.
so i am buying 05 plastic in spring for my 00.
means individually replaceable f.fenders
they are about $60 a piece from honda.
i have a 250r hood on my 400 now, so i am not worried about the gap tween the fenders where the light would go.
hope this helped clear it up.

I'm in the process of doing this swap. The fendersbolt up perfect. the only problem I'm having is with the main headlight mount which is called the front fenderstay. To mount the headlight you will have to remove all of your plugs for your headlight and ignition that mount to the front cross bar. Take a hammer and beat those plug clips flat that are welded to the front and rear of that cross bar, then drill your own mounting holes to hold the headlightmount and wiring clip mount. I will work on getting some pictures together to show. I any one can find out about that other bracket I would appreciate it.
