i have an 03 400ex and my wheel studs are f***ed. i need new ones . everyones telling me i have to buy all new hubs. i need all 16 studs are the 1986 250r or the 1987 - TRX250X ect...... the same as the 400ex some one plz help me out

 

You know, they may be right! When i read your thread I clicked on Ronnies oem parts catalog and looked it up myself..They only show the hub with studs, but not the studs seperately. I couldnt believe it..If all else fails , go to your local auto parts stores and ask them to show you wheel studs for Honda cars around that same era. *8mm* should be the size I believe. There is a good chance you will find something that will work. After all, someone had to make them for Honda to start with, right?

 

If you can get the old studs out of the hubs you can just use regular bolts. I bought my 400ex used and it had wheel spacers in the front. the previous owner had pressed out the old studs and used a longer hard grade bolt (the bolt head will say "10.9"). you may have to take the hub off to get the old stud out.

The problem with this is you have to get a wrench on the backside of the hub to hold the bolt when removing and installing the wheel. If I were you I would take the hub off and take it to an auto parts store and see if they can come up with hub bolts to fit it first, and only use regular bolts if you cant come up with pressed in hub bolts.
