My bargain was a polaris xplorer 300 for $1500... needed bearings.... oh yeah they forgot to mention it needed a new strut, brake caliper, 4wd clutch, cv joint, rear bearings and seals, rear bushings for the swingarm, and a starter. Look up these parts and it will be over $600 for parts. After all that money and work I bailed out on it and purchased a new honda.
I'll probably never purchase a used ATV again after that incident --- i know some of you will nail me for that.
As far as new atvs go... yeah i think 8600 is too much.

Did you ask if there were any problems with it? Where did you find it? How did they advertise it? In good condition with no problems? If so you could get them for false advertising...

Hey I am with you guys on the fact that ATV prices are getting out of hand. But for all you guys out in the Midwest and the south, try checkingt out proces in California where I live! I guarnateee you will feel a lot better about how much your paying for your quads where you live. I paid $6800 out the door for my 2004 Raptor. A 2005 Honda 400ex goes for about $6000. A YFZ 450 goes for 7500 or more!In the midwest I have heard people on threads talking about paying 5500 for a raptor! what the hell! I would love to pay that for a raptor. Anyway Im just saying this to make all you guys feel a little better about the prices in your neck of the woods. Because trust me, us Californians are getting ripped off way more than the rest of you guys. Try paying $2.55 a gallon for premium. that was the price at Chevron this morning........ or hopw about $500,000 for a decent 3 bedroom house?????? Sorry I am just venting......
