Are 26 in mudlites too much for my Rancher AT?
I need new tires and have decided on Mudlites, Some say stick with 25s others say go to 26s. I rids some mud but also a lot of trails, I would like to hear from people that have actually done it not just speculation. Also my bike is completely stock at this point,
I bought the set of 26 inch Mudlites and put them on last night. (type 5 wheels) I do notice some power difference in automatic probably because of the torque/power band. It seems fine in ES mode. I really haven't got to try them out too much but the places i went before in 4wd I now go in 2wd. I'll hopefully get to try them out this weekend. I think these 26's will be fine. Thanks for everyones imput.

I put a set of 26" mudlites on c series on my rancher 350. While there was a power loss, the extra tread depth, floatation, and other attributes far outweighed the power loss. I still had plenty of power to turn the tire in the mud, water and snow. I'd never opt for the 25".

Well I got to try them some this weekend and they are awesome. I did lose some top end, but on difficult terrain the extra stability from the wider stance really helps. I really didn't notice any power loss in the woods and I climbed some very steep hills. I haven't tried it in the deep mud yet but I think they will do fine. As far as handling and ride I think it handles better but it is a little harder to turn in tight spots. The ride seems about the same except when you are going slow on hardpack, then you feel the lugs. I'm HAPPY!!
