For now I am going to try and get it running. I bought some blasters for the wife and kid but we can never all go riding because I need a running quad too. The more I look this thing over, the more I like it. Even though it is an 87 model, it is amazing how good the thing looks. It looks more like a bike that is about five years old instead of almost twenty.

that's not a bad deal at all, and it got a bigger gas tank on it too

do like HughJazz said, get the big bore kit, but you don't necessarily have to buy the kits with the jug even though it's better to, you can just get a big bore sleeve it's cheaper not as good as the new cylinder would be.

Just to give everyone an update, I got the 250r back together and the lower ends seems to be in good shape. Went riding for a little bit to break it in today. I can't wait to really jump in the gas on this thing. I've got to do some carb tuning first and break it in. All and all I am happy so far. I've got less than 1200 total in the quad. It would be less but I bought a new hood and tank cover to dress it up a little. I have a new picture of it in my page if anyone wants to see it.

No, the banshee was introduced in 86 as an 87 model though. I believe the Blaster was first introduced as an 88 model. What does that have to do with this thread anyway?

I had 86' & 87' Blaster in my signature but changed it after Rem noticed it, I changed it to the right years. One of those typo things.
