Which MX mods should I do first? (working with limited budget)
#1
I have a 2000 400EX and am slowly moding it up for MX. So far I have nerfs, bars, and Works triple rate w rez. And I am curious, of these few thing, which I should buy first because I cant buy them all at once, ( dont have all the money yet). Here are the things that So far, I think I need, of these, which should be bought first?:
- Beadlocks w/ 18x9.5x8
- +3+1 a arms that give 14inches of travel!!!
- +4 Eliminator durablue axle
- steering stabilizer
- grooved front radials
So like I said of those things, what should be the order in which I buy them. Thanks alot guys

I was under the impression that I needed to buy the beadlocks on 18in first. Because the smaller tires give you a lower center of gravity and enable you to slid much better around the corners. If the arms are imparitive first, Well I have my fronts turned around making it much widder, does that mean I can skip to the next item and get the axle, then wait till later and do the front end right and buy the arms? Your help is very much appreciated.

Why would 3 be too wide, Widder is better right? Yes it is too wide to pass AMA regulations but im not concerned with that because Im only racing for fun, just local stuff. The beadlocks are for when I become a more aggressive rider and start rolling the tire off of the bead, which is a common thing if your real aggressive. Why do you think all the pros run beadlocks? later

First off...The beadlocks should be your first chocie with 18x11x8 turf tamers...the 11 inch wide work better then hte 9.5 on the 400ex and the 9.5 work better on the 250r. Then go with a +1 swingarm...Yours will crack soon...then I would just go with the Plus 3 a-arms...actually I would go with +2 which is plenty...creates a lot more bumpy ride and +2 is plenty for ya...I would not recommend going +1 one forward...The go with the axle and I would recommend a RPM or a lonestar. From personal experience Dura blu's break real easy...I know a guy who doesnt ride that hard that has gone through 4...and the only replace the first one after that its half price...Shift the beadlock bolts on to the rim so the bead wont roll off even with no pressure in the tire..my tire actually twisted on the rim cause it couldnt come off...but if you going to get beadlocks make sure you get the inside reinforced...Not good to spend $300 on rims then egg the inside
