The 400ex already positions your body forward...so adding a inch to the front would make you feel like you could stand up or lean back as much...it owuld be better to put your inch in the swingarm...Thats why I guess...talked to a few people who said they wished they hadnt gotten the +1...

if i was u i would go with the axle. but don't by dura-blue. I had one on my 250r last year needless to say it snapped on a 25ft table which i over cleared. Since then i bought a rpm dominator that axle is strong. plus a lifetime warrenty it may be a little more $ but it will pay off in the long run i have rpm's on all three of my quads for about 10 months and no problems

BTW +3 is not too wide for ama rules.. i have the lobo front end on my 400ex and the protrax on my 88 250r. both are +3 and i race nationals

Don't forget to have those front shocks reworked when you go with the extended A-arms!

I would definitely go with the a-arms and axle first. If possible get them together. Just wait till you can get enough money. To answer your question about the wheels flipped around-no get the a-arms. Go plus 2 on them too because +3 pushes too much and is just too wide. Dont go +1 forward because it puts too much weight bias up front. I have a Durablue and race it very hard and haven't had any probs with it. Although last night at the race 3 of my friends broke Durablue axles. I've heard the RPM might be the strongest. But the best thing I can tell you is get every possible thing handlin and comfort wise, get where you're comfortable to the chassis, then dig into the motor.

Yeah Ive heard the same DURA BREAK, but last time I talked to a guy who werked at a MX store, he said from a sellers view, they sold about the same amount of durablue and lonestar axles, and they had something like 3 durablue returned and like 10 lonestars for bending or whatnot. Just what Ive been told

I currently have that in my THINGS TO DO LIST.
I have Works triple rates w/ rez set up for +2 now and am intending to send them off to TCS along with my Rear, and have them set up for zero preload, and ill have them valve em for +3. Thanks for the advice tho.

I got it from Tom Miller Motorsports. It takes away the rev limiter completely. By the way, in my last post I said a-arms and axle definitely first. If you ride really hard already, I'd go ahead and get the rear beadlocks. I rolled my tire off the rim 5 times in 2 races before I got mine. In the front I don't think beadlocks are really necessary, just reinforced rims are fine.
