Default Hot Cam ?

I will soon be purchasing a hot cam but i am still not sure which one to get. I am kinda leaning towards the stage 1 bc i will not be changing the piston just yet. Which one would you suggest? Also, since i am not changing the piston yet will i notice a diff in power with the new cam? Thanks.

Default Hot Cam ?

I noticed a big difference with the stage one I had installed. I went with the 16 tooth front cause of the front end wanting to come up all the time, but I think I will go back to the 15 cause it seems it looses power and speed on the upper end with the 16.

Thanks for your reply, did you just install the cam or did you put in a piston too? Does anyone else have any thoughts on this? Thanks.

Default Hot Cam ?

I had my motor in at a Honda shop for a replace ment part that was under warantee (sp) and they looked at the piston and said it had some scuffs, so I had the bore it over .20 and put a regular piston in. NOt sure what the Compression is though. Then had the cam put in when I had the motor taken apart again for some shifting problems.

i would think a stage 1 would suit your riding style better but the x-6 likes the highest rpm possible.

Thanks, will the stage 1 work okay with the stock piston? And do you believe that there will be a noticable increase in power?

Well with that being said, will a stage 2 work with the stock piston? I know i will lose some bottom, but will it work? I am planning on getting a 11:1 piston some time real soon, but money is kinda limited right now bc of Christmas. So would it be okay for me to get the stage 2 for now that way i wont have to replace it when i get my high comp piston?

Is there anyone out there running a stage 2 hot cam in there stock 400ex? How does it run? Was there a huge loss in bottom end power? Thanks.
