Default 250R Suspension...

For the 250R I just bought, whats the best bang for the buck guys? I mainly ride sand, and I dont "race" BUT if it comes down to spending another 100-200 bucks or something reasonable for a WAY better setup I would rather do that, cause im NOT a cheap *** haha. I do know I want shocks with rezzies... but I dont get the +2; +2+1; +3; etc... is that all just riding preference or is there one I should be looking for? People have said leager and lonestar are the way to go and use a RPM axle since they have a lifetime warrentee? Thing is, asking shops they tend to give you a bias facts depending on the brands they sell... you know... and spending that kind of money I want to do it right the first time! did you thought about spacers and lowering kits ? On a tight budget, its the best thing and its makes a big difference on handling.
Personnaly, I upgrade these parts only when they break... Its not worth it to buy a 400 bucks axle if you don't race. You should keep this money for better shocks.

haha, thanks but no thanks I’m not going to lower my quad, we're not talking about my car I plan to get shocks, arms, and an axle all at once... I have the money, I’m not just running my mouth... and when I say best bang for my buck I mean just that not that I’m trying to go economy route. all I meant when I made that statement was I was trying to stay under 1500 bucks if at all possible - I didn’t want to go overkill; unless it’s really just worth it to spend a couple more hundred. The reason I’m doing the axle would be so my rear end isn’t all skinny and the front is getting all the width... cause I don’t think that could be good? Could it?

I would go +3 +1 A-arms. If you dont want to spend to much money, go with Denton Racing they have a widen kit for $1,100 bucks. Arms, front shocks, axle and break lines. If you look in Dirt WHeels at the advertisment pages, look for the Denton. I am not sure what shock they advertise for, but most likely it would be works with no ReZ. But you can always ask for a better deal. If you look at my PICs my 250R has Houser Long Travel +3+1 arms with Axis front long travel shocks, but this was very expensive.

The +3 would be a +3inch a-arm on each side a total of +6 inches wider in the front. If you go +2 +1 that would be +2 on each side and +1 forward. Most people go with a +2, but the I think the wider the better for better stability. Lonestar axle the axcalibar is a nice axle and has a lifetime warrentee.

The Denton widen kit is +2 arms and a +4 axle. Total of 4inches wider in the front and rear.

I hope this helps out.

I'm thinking.... probally going to go with Leager's +2+1 and some Elka's most likely.. and one of the lifetime warentee axles (RPM, lonestar) Does that sound okay?

cool ill hit that guy up tomorrow, so whats your ideal suspension setup thats not overkill. I seen they have their own arms and lonestar arms... and a few different shock brands. tcs, works, elka, and PEP. would you rather run something other then their stuff?
