I have a honda 4trax. the electric start is broken, so i have to kick start it. it starts up the first kick every time. the problem is when i let it idle, it stalls out on me. It will only run when i constantly have the gas pushed reving it. I can take it for a spin up and down the road, but when i stop and let it idle, it stalls on me. and the choke is off, the gas is on. so i dont know what is wrong. any suggestions?

You may want to have your battery checked for a possible dead cell(s). Since the quad runs at higher rpms it may be getting enough voltage from the charging coil to keep it running & at idle the voltage may drop and a defective battery won't supply any voltage. Also the charging coil itself could be defective & not charging an otherwise good battery.

I think i know what also could be the problem. Raise the idle a little bit and then see if it still stalls.

Hey Jetskigirl.. I think he is right, your idle speed might be a bit too slow..

other problems can cause that symptom also..

Idle mixture adjustment not adjusted correctly or clogged. Vaccum leak in the intake..

try the idle speed first.. the other corrections should be made by a machanic.
good luck..
oh btw.. I am in Winston.. not too far from you
