Yeah that's are really insane pipe, well at least it looks really sweet. It's worth it for the looks and sounds i'm sure. I know my friend wanted that pipe on his 400ex but just could not spend that much on a exhaust system alone. He has a White Bros which is a really nice pipe as well and give equal power across the board.

these are sweet looking. i am not too concerned about noise. i currently run a thermally coated stainless x-6 and i have thought about selling it to get these. however, i just want my bike to be quicker. if i could get these for around the same price as a full LRD or similar, i would probably just buy them. i realize they come with more stuff (2 headpipes/silencers, air box, etc). however, the company making them should have realized that in the first place. i don't need a new air box and i don't care how many head pipes i have. however, i do care about the power output. i contacted LTE about doing an exhaust shootout but they never got back with me. i can get my hands on the x-6, x-4, and a full HMF. however, i wanted to include these in the shootout but they never got back with me. if i would be able to get them for around the $500 mark, i would get it to do some testing. however, that just doesn't seem possible. i feel i can put the extra $200 into the motor and get better gains.
were these designed more for the stock or slightly built engine? on that dyno, what mods were done to the bike? i realize pipes but what else? air box lid on or off? what jetting? any other minor mods done?

I have one on my EX. I am biased, but I can have any pipe I want, and that's what I have on my personal EX. If you want two things, high flow performance and low noise- that THE pipe to get. I have the older design, and it still rocks! The new design adds another 1.5 hp. I've had FMF, Yoshi and the stock pipe - nothing beats it. I ride nearly every weekend and I regularly beat YFZs and 450Rs.
If you dont plan on building your EX and you dont care about noise, like Dirt Wheels, then there are less expensive alternatives that have more low end torque. But I run a 440 and next week it will be a 460 - That high flow design is the ONLY one out there that performs like it does - all the while I smile as I go by the DB police on the dunes.
One thing to mention as well, it also comes with a pretty trick airbox that relocates your battery to the inside.

I think you'll find that it increases horsepower on the stock motor above 5000 RPM or so. The other pipes you mention probably beat it below 5000 RPM on the stock motor. But if you start building it, piston, cams, that sort of thing, the LTE will do much better on the low end as well as the top.
