WHAT MACHINE TO BUY
#11
okay last time. the guy wanted to know which quad rode the best, griz or ruby. the last line states that he would like any kind of help. I was suggesting to look at a Polaris Sportsman because of the rave it got in the 500cc 4 X 4 shootout. Which in fact, it did win. That is all! With the IRS of the Polaris, your going to get a better ride than either the Ruby or The Griz. That was my point. That's it, I wasn't bashing the Griz or the Ruby. Get it yet?
p.s.
The whole thing about divergent cogitation doesn't make a bit of sense. I have the capacity to think, and i wasn't wandering off of the subject.

My next door neighbor works at a Yamaha shop & he says that he sees lots & lots of Grizzleys in the service dept. I also don't understand why so many Polaris riders are in the HONDA forum hyping Polaris. I don't go to the Polaris forum and hype Honda.

When he referred to any kind of help, I believe he was catchetizing the members of the forum for opinions based upon personal experience with either of these two machines. Not a broad appeal on all ATVs. He was very breviloquent about which two he had interest in buying. If sought information on a more diverse list of possible machines, which is fine, I believe he would have posted in the "Buying an ATV" forum and not come to the Honda forum specifically. Or, he would have posted in all of he applicable forums. I don’t think I could possibly accept the second-person reports in lieu of actual, not conjectural, real experience from owners with experience with a particular bike. There are many other bikes that may and probably should be under consideration by FOURYOUNGS. Alas, he inquired about only two. But, instead of attempting to tell him what to do or think, I was trying to provide him with personal experience and support per his request. I don’t think I said anything about you, or anyone else, bashing the Rubicon. That inclusive aside was a panoramic comment on the "state of the fourm"

I have just got done reading what is here and do appreciate the info sent in. I hope I have not caused any problems by asking such questions. I am still not sure what machine to get. I just sold a 96 Sportsman and still own two 2000 Explorers. Before that we have owned a Blaster, Warrior, TRX 300 4 x 4, TRX 125 and 450es. I do like the reliability of Honda, but I like all of the brands out there.
when i asked about the overheating concern of the Grizzly it was not in any way trying to criticize the machine, I just want to get what overall is the best available sport-ut I can. In this area the Honda is around $500 more than the Grizzly or Sportsman 500, but in the long run it could turn out to be a better deal. Again I thank you for all of your input. I will have to make a decision by tomorrow or friday.
Thanks

Well, I went out tonight and picked-up a new red Rubicon. I only rode it for about 5 miles, but will get it out this weekend for a more extensive ride. One of the things I noticed right away when driving it was the immediate pull right off idle. It is very linear in the ways it takes off. I played around with one of my sons with one of our 250 Explorers and was impressed how smooth the auto mode shifts for you as you drive along. It was actually quicker just leaving it in the regular auto mode instead of ESP. Perhaps as I get more used to the shifting I can out perform the system in the auto mode in either D1 or D2. It seems that in D2 the machine shorts shift more so than in D1. It really turns quite easy and feels very stable. Anyways I thought I should post this to let anyone out there that replied to my post yesterday that I got a Rubicon. I will be getting a better feel for the machine this weekend. I am looking towards going to Salamanca the 24th of Sep. for their last Dice run of the year.
