Default Fourtrax stalling when warmed up

My dad has a 87 Fourtrax which he uses about 2 weeks a year. Lately it stalls when he puts it in gear. It only does it after it has been running for about 15-20 minutes. It starts right back up and idles fine. It revs fine when in nuetral. He took it to a local honda dealer, they rebuilt the carb and changed the float. They also replaced the fuel pump, the fuel lines and filter and set the idle speed. They said they drove it around and it never acted up, when 'ol pops got it home it stalled after 15 minutes. After spending almost 300 bucks he doesn't feel to confident letting them touch it again. We seem to think it could be electrical. A coil, CDI box or nuetral switch possibly. It doesnt seem to be running hot. If he lets it sit for 15-20 minutes it will run great for a while. Has anyone experienced something like this before? Any suggestion would be great. Thanks

Does it have a manual gas tank vent in the cap? My 97 TRX300 did and it acted the same way when I forgot to open it. When it quits, try opening the gas cap and see if you hear it sucking air in.

Did the dealer clean the tank? If its a metal tank it may be rusty and the particals are working their way into the carburetor. When it sits, the particals would settle on the bottom of the carb bowl. After running for a few minutes they would get stirred up and sucked into the jets when delivering fuel. Just a thougt. When a vehicle sits for long periods of time, condensation builds in the fuel tank and of course forms rust. If he stores it for long periods of time he would be best off to keep the tank full with a fuel stabilizer added as well..Old myth says to run a tank dry before storing, but this has found to be wrong. If the tank is kept full, there is less room for condensation. Just be sure and use a fuel stabilizer to keep the gasoline in good condition.
