what are the top speeds of both machines... and how could you get a 300 to beat a 400

 

55 mph for the 300 as for the 400 i am guessing around 65 since the z400 does 68. you could put a big bore kit on it but you are better off just buying a used 400ex.

Powrolls 352 kit, tweeked, will get in front of a 400ex. Bring 2 grand,though.

 

Simply just buy a 400ex.....

 

I jsut spent about 2grand building a 300ex motor. And its not even a big bore yet. I cant wait to see how it does vs other quads.

to make the 300ex go as fast as the 400 u could jack up the seat and put a 400ex under it..

 

yeah it will take more than just a big bore kit, most people don't realize that a big bore doesn't do very much to add performance, just a little better torque and that's about it, you need a stroker crank to add TRUELY add CC's. also you need the basic bolt on's to accompany something like that, plus a rejetted carb, different cam, valves, etc. by the time you get done building a 300 you might as well buy a used 400ex, or get a 250X frame, or just use the 300, and replace either motor with a ATC350X engine, then you'll have something that will beat a 400ex without having to mod it.
