Default What size Carb on my 250R

I was thinking of getting a bigger carb on my 250R. It is currently bored over 0.50 with a spacer plate, and 86 piston. I belive at this time I have the stock 34 carb. I do mostly trail, tundra, beach and dune riding. I am at sea level. Average temp winter 28 degreees and Summer 55.
With a bigger carb what size jets?

The 38mm airstyder carb works well. It is the stock carb off of a 2000 CR250. I would port it 1st though

I'll agree with spending the cash for portwork first, if not already done. I just rebuilt mine with a Dune style portjob, bored ".080 over, ESR TRX 5 pipe, and installed a 39 PWK from ESR. It absolutely rips from bottom to top and feels less "pipey" than it did before. You will lose some bottom end with any bigger carb, but who rides a 250R for the bottom end anyway? Some will say a 39 is too big, I know of stock jug, ported bikes running 40.5's as dune, or all around bike's. All depends on your riding style. I like the PWK series of carbs because they are easy to tune. I jetted mine with a 188 to start off and after a couple of plug chops looks to be spot on (900 ft elevation, about 60 degreees)Good Luck.
