Default Warn 424 select

I have a Honda Forman 99 450es and was looking at installing this Warn 424. What all has to be taken apart to install this part and how difficult would it be. Thanks in advance.

The front driveshaft is replaced with the select unit.Unbolt the front differential move it as far to the front as possible remove the old shaft and put in the new one .An extra set of hands would be good to help hold it forward.Should take 2-3 hours and a couple of cold ones .

I'm confused!

Usually, it's a "couple of cold ones" to pre-plan the job, then a couple more cold ones for the getting-everything-ready stage of things and then, of course, at least a couple of cold ones during the course of the job.

Soooooooo, which "couple of cold ones" are you specifically referring to???

Default Warn 424 select

I just put the Warn 424 select on my 98 TRX 300 4X4 two weeks ago and it was easier than I thought it would be. I had a friend help me because like "framer" said the extra set of hands was almost a must. We started with a couple of cold ones then took the inner plastic off and loosened everything that was required to be loosened. Then we had a few more cold ones and removed the old front drive shaft. Next we had a few more cold ones and installed the 424 Select. It all went together so well that we then had several cold ones. Then we secured the cable, mounted the control **** and we were done! We finished the rest of the cold ones and called it a night.

In all seriousness though, the instructions are good. I did the work at my shop and was able to lift the quad up with a forklift which made it easy to get to everything. It may be different for your Fourman but it can't be that much different. It took us less than two hours and we were drinking a little between steps. I have riden with it about 6 times since I installed it and I highly recommend it. It works great and makes the quad so much more fun to ride when you can sling the a$$ end around.

Good luck and let us know if you decide to get and how easy it is for you to install.
