what is the best motor to put in a 250ex chain driven preferred

 

it's not really possible to do that because you would have to get a brake conversion kit for to change to the chain and no company makes one. Also the frame is to small, buy a BIGGER and better 300EX or 400EX.

 

You can stuff a 300ex motor in there- it'll fit right in. Heck- the engine cases are so similar that you could probably transfer the kick start lver over. This will give you electric start too.....

 

i thoguht about tht then i thoguht u would have to take the whole rear end out and i dont no if the 300ex rear or any other quads rear end would fit back there .. so i think its to much trouble if u want to do it tht bad i would just sell it and get wut u really want.

 

NO chance..... you may do that to the 250X but not the EX.

 

Oh yes-- Thought we were talking about the 250X, sorry to be the bearer of bad news- but not really anything you can do with a 250ex. I'd hafta parrot that advise- sell it and buy something more apprpriate to your liking...

I thought about this when i have mine, my thoughts were would maybe a rancher 2wd engine work??

 

if u want to put a chain driven engine into a 250ex, u would be spending waayy too much money on all the components needed. would be cheaper to just buy a new quad. i dont think there is another engine u can put into a 250ex...a rancher engine uses a bigger shaft drive and different gearing, so idk if that would work either. maybe a z250 engine, but that would be about it and those two are pretty much the same so whats the use.
