New Quad needed
My new quad is a 05 sportsman 700efi. It has 35 miles on it and has a new clutch and dayco belt ,to try to get it to stop smoking belts. This was a bad move im not hard on my quad's I just use them for work around the house or hunting (I dont think I should need to go into low range when going to my deer stand on fairly flat trails below 10 mph like polaris says). THIS THING IS JUNK!!! I NEED TO FIND THE WAY OUT OF THIS THING! Can you guys give me some input on RECON and RINCON AND DO THAY HAVE HIGH AND LOW RANGE AND DIFF LOCK??
THANK'S FOR YOUR TIME TROY
ARE THEY THE BEST ?

I would suggest the new Foreman 500 for your type of application. It has a manual transmission, that you can foot shift or shift electronically if you insist (ES). The Foreman line has set the standard for tough and durable machines!
If you insist on an automatic, my second choice for you would be a Rubicon 500. It has a unique hydromechanical transmission. (I personally like to stay away from complex electronics on a machine that is going to see rough treatment. Save that stuff for the street!)
The Recon 250 is a little 2wd machine best suited for small adults and intermediate kids.
The Rincon 650 is kind of a cruiser with an automotive style automatic transmission. It has IRS and a cush suspension. I wouldn't pick it for your type of application. It is an SUV, not a work machine.
Honda tends to put on a very low first gear, rather than a low range (although the Rubicon LR). This tactic saves on weight! (How much does your 700 weigh??? About 700 lbs. I bet!!!) Honda's don't have dif locks. They have a very nice torque sensing differential, that sends power to the wheel with traction.
