Hey everyone how is the TRX250EX? Is it a good ride for a starting rider? How is the automatic clutch on it? I wanted a manual clutch so I didn't get bored but the dealer recommened this instead of the one I proposed. Tell me what you know about the TRX250EX!

 

Other Info: Im 14 5'6 around 120ish lbs and eager to ride

By any chance will I get bored with it because of the auto clutch and supposide lack of speed?

 

yes. its good beginner bike, kind of. i think you should get a Z400 or 400ex. Much more power, bigger, and more comfortable. your going to get soo bored with that bike, then have to sell it to get a 400cc quad. Just get the 400 and be done with it, you wont be disapointed. the 250ex is a old Utitility engine, not fast at all. For comparison, im 14 and have a Raptor 660R, my friend devin has a 400ex and hes 15

 

Ya i would get a raptor 350 but my dad wont let me. I was gonna get a blaster 200 but he researched it and that bike leads deaths for 1 year! I want a fast bike but I dont think im getting one... [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif[/img]

 

Looks like I can't get anything faster than a the TRX250EX... my dad is getting the 660R Raptor. He will leave me in the dust when riding...I would be super happy to take the trx250ex if it was manual clutch i hate automatic... But I will take what I can get at this point.

 

i understand, why not get the Z250 then? Its much faster then the 250ex, a little more aggressive, and its same CC so he wont know [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img]

 

How much faster is the suzuki z250?

 

For your 1st machine you'll have a blast on a 250ex. Or maybe the z250, you can install a manual override for the clutch and enjoy both worlds of auto & manual. learning to ride on a high performance machine usually ands up in the emergency room or worse. My 15 yr old daughter started out on the z250 and will probably race it locally this year. She has come a long way in her skill level on this size machine without having the hazards of to much power that can get you in trouble before you realize it. She also does pretty well keeping up with me on my z400 in the woods, where speed rarely count, but ability mean everything. Besides, with the old man getting a raptor, you'll most likely have access to it once you gain experience and he see's it . Sounds reasonable enough, eh ?
