I like twist way better. Its not any harder to ride with a twist throttle for me, and it dosent make your thumb tired

Default twist or thumb?

The main problem with either twist or thumb is that your brain may not be programed to the throttle so you get a delay when nothing happens. My first quad came along after many years of riding dirt bikes. I was constantly trying to twist and nothing happened. The twist installed on the Banshee solved all the problems. Then I got a 400EX and the stock thumb worked so much better than the stock Banshee thumb that I have deceided to keep the 400EX thumb. I now hop back and forth from thumb to twist with no delay or problem. The only functional difference is that the thumb throttle is much better sealed than a twist so much less chance of getting mud or sand inside and causing sticking. Also rolling a quad with a thumb will not push throttle up bar and cause sticking. Contrary to previous comment, there is no problem making sharp turns with a twist, do it all the time on dune faces on the Bansh.
There are many different types of twist throttles so be sure you do not just leave it up to some aftermarket parts guy because then you have no idea what you will get. Go to Motion Pro web site and check out all their various types. I like the Motion Pro CR type 1/4 turn, works great on the Banshee.

I like thumb much better than twist but i know someone who races in hare scrambles and he prefers twist over everything else. He would not go back to thumb throttle for anything. But he used to race dirtbikes first so he prob. was used to it.
