What's the difference between the Foreman 99ES and the 2000ES as far as the electric shift units are concerned?

No difference in the Foremans other then on certain older models they had to have a module changed to cure a battery drain problem. If you don't use your Foreman for awhile and the battery is dead when you try and start it, take it in and have it checked. Your dealer may have had it checked already.

The Honda factory shop manual is the same one for 1998-2000 models. I suspect there is zero difference. I own a '98 and '00, and the only difference at all that I can see is the shape of the choke ****. Shifting feels identical. Yes, took the '98 in for the battery drain fix, but I think all they did was add a component, not replace the electronic module?
