we need way more info than you gave us. where you going to ride? what other mods are going on the bike? what kind of power delivery do you want? what compression do you want to run?

i am looking at using 11:1 compression dont want to put too much stress on it. I want to also do a port and polish head with cam and bigger valves. I have an aluminum air box and pro circuit pipe on there now.

I ride a mix of hard rocky trails smooth trails and sand. I dont do more than another. As for how much power I want I just want more no really number. Everything i do i want to keep it as reilable as possible. I do understand that modding anything makes it less reilable

i would probably go with a smaller bore. this should help keep things cool and should be very reliable. the stock bore, 406, and 416's can be very reliable and produce great power gains. the power gains from each bore doesn't seem like much to me so i don't necessarily think you need a huge bore. here is what i would do:

a cam that suits your riding style, a higher compression piston of your bore choice, and a good FULL exhaust system. these will make the most difference. i have dealt with ported heads and the gains just aren't as much as with the cam, piston, and full pipe. after the cam, piston, and full pipe, yes, a carb and a ported/polished head might be the next thing on the list.

for open land, i like the stage 2 hotcam and the TC mx grind cams. the stage 1 is nice in the trails but it ticks loud.

the 406's come in 10.6:1 the 416's come with 10.8:1. either will be fine. i would call up C&D racing for these parts. you can get different gasket thicknesses to change the compression ratios around a bit.
