He didnt back out of IT, HE is Getting it. He was probably going to buy it after he made sure Junior just wasnt having a Fad moment like all of the 1st and 2nd graders and their d@mn Poke`mon toys. Junior Probably messed up by mouthing off about buying it himself. I think He would have a hard time with $10000 to go and buy one without a parent involved. I also think that any kid with $4000 dollars carting it around with No worries has gotten way too much from his parents already. If he can stockpile that much, whether working or not hes still spoiled. Besides they are going to sell a couple of Polarises and get a few thousand dollars anyway, so Junior and his smart attitude will only be out about $2500. So hes basically griping about a 2001 fourwheeler for $2500 at 9% interest for 48 months, OH WOW hes out $56.77 a month, or 113.44 a month for 2 years. And basically hes left with $1500 to blow on mods. Not Bad for a spoiled kid who usually brings home C's and D's.

quadamaniac you should consider yourself very lucky. I mean you had other quads before. This just goes to show you how the amount of respect kids have for there parents has dropped. I can not imagine yelling at my father period let alone for not buying me a wheeler especially when you already had one.
It really stinks that your dad had to bribe you to get good grades. If I didn't get good grades I got grounded. when I was a freshman in highschool my dad sold his hunting rifle (one his dad bought him when he was a kid) to buy my brother and I Christmas presents. When i was a junior in high school I bought my first quad with my own money it was the best feeling in the world and I wouldn;t have had it any other way. There comes a sense of pride when you do things yourself and I'm sure you found this out when you got the A's, keep it up ther is no excuse for C's and D's in high school, you will need those grades to get into college.
I hope that you read all these post and listen to what every person has to say also you should consider an apology to you dad and maybe a thank you.
I can remember when my parents would make there little remarks about not eating all my dinner on my plate stating "there was soem kid somewhere that would die for the food that I was about to throw away" and you are getting a wheeler for getting A's on a report card. I was the kid that would have died for that oppurtunity.

hey there, first of all i have to tell u adults out there that not all teenagers are like quadmaniac. what i mean is, i am 14, i have to get a's and b's in school or else im grounded. i pretty much HAVE to get good grades and if i slack off in school, my parents take away my gym membership, quad, and dont let me go out with my friends untill i bring my grades back up. i have never had to have that happen though.
2 years ago, i bought a brand new trx90, it wasnt much, but it felt great to be able to buy it myself, i saved for a year to get it, and my parents were very proud of me.
i recently was talking to my dad bought buying a 400ex, he knows how much i love the sport and that the my trx90 is gettin pretty small for me. so, we talked about it, and he told me that he had been thinking about taking me for a ride to the dealer to look at new atv's. when i asked him what made him want to do this, he said (these almost his exact words) " Josh, you have been everything i could ask for in a son,u are always there when someone needs help, u never talk back or argue and you do what is asked of you and then some. you deserve somthing for that. and i know how much u love the sport so i couldnt think of anythign better to get you." i got pretty emotional and almost cried (cuz i was so happy).
so, if i were you quadamaniac, i would definetly appologize to your father, i would never ever talk to my father the way you did. you are probably older than me too, it just goes to show who is mature. all i get for good grades is a handshake from my dad and a hug from my parents.
just my 2 cents.

quadamaniac: Just so you know, if you want the best deal on a 400ex go to Fairbury. Garber's Honda will give you the best deal in the state i promise. Omaha honda sucks, Lincoln wont deal either. Fairbury or NorthPlatte (Butke Honda I believe) will also deal. Just trying to help save you some money. Also if you want to travel a bit, Ainsworth has some cheap prices and manly deal Kawayee's but they get some great looking used ex's somtimes. Check Fairbury out though, before you buy anything in Omaha and Lincoln. I got my 98CBR for 6400 at Fairbury compared to Omaha and Lincoln wanting 7700 and the lowest they would go with a trade was 7200. Check'em out and good luck. KEEP YOUR GRADES UP NOW that we all know you can. Any other questions on good dealers in NE email me, glad to help I grew up there and went to college at UNL.

i feel that owning a quad is a responsibility. My ada always tought me how to maintain one, but i am the only one who ever rode (dad has bad back).
Really the best way to eventually get the big machine you want is to work up to it, like i did.
Way back i got an xr100, and i paid for it all by myself at a young age (working at a friend's canoe rental place). Then i kept moving up. Now i basically paid for 1/2 of my 400, but my parents pitched in on the rest.
If i came home with anything but a's and b's my mom would think i was smoking crack. I am in gifted, and advanced math, and i have to work hard for a's. I don't get rewarded, i just do it.
Must be great to ride, hunt, or camp with a father, my dad never did these things with me.

i personaly think your father did exsactly what he said he would, he helped you get your 400 dint he?? HE paid for the Polaris' and hes alowing you to keep that oney that comes from selling them, and lets you use it to buy YOUR own quad. Also, i never beg for anything from my parents, i just let them know how much im interested in it, then they talk it over with me to see if its a possibility. Im 16, and besides high school, i work 30+ hours a week, wich is alot for my age while in highschool. I do my best in school, and i try and pay for everything myself becuase i cant stand asking my parents for money. I started on a 96 LT80, then after i grew out of that, i got a 98 Recon. Then after that, my dad gave me the option of getting a new quad, and i chose the 400ex, and i paid for it, and all of my mods. To make my point simple.... Are still gunna ask daddy to buy you your new $40,000 truck when your 30???? I just hope that you keep your grades up.
