I was told that my dealer was holding all sales on the new ranchers because of some recall. Something to do with the frame. Has anyone heard anything about this ? I have to call tomorrow to see exactally what it is.

Yes, I heard the same thing. However, I was told that the a-arm needs a reinforcement piece. I was also told not to ride until this piece was in place. To top off all this "good" information, nobody knew when Honda would have a part to fix this problem. The dealer said that it could be a couple of weeks or a month.

I just bought mine last weekend and already there is a recall. Im guessing it will be much trouble to get fixed. I'm glad though that Honda will admit it when there is a problem and get it fixed. Other brands dont seem to care after they have their money.Still glad I went with honda !!

Hey Hondaron, does this include the 2000 models or just the '01s? I got my '00 a few weeks ago, and it seems to be fine.

This includes both 00 and 01, I have an 00 that I bought today and it is in the recall list.

Something is up!

I called my dealer & they denied the recall. It really is hard to find a dealer you can trust. Time to check with some other dealers & find out whats going on.

That's alright. If I'm ridin my rancher and the frame busts and Honda or my rapist(dealer) knew something was up, then I will be a rich man....as long as I'm not dead.

I was told by my dealer that it was a very serious frame problem. Only certain serial numbers were defective and the effected people will be getting a letter in the mail telling them about the problem.

You probably didn't bend your a-arm. Check this forum for aligning procedure on the Rancher, it works, I have used it twice to re-align my tires from 'kissing' a stump or two.
