Milemarker winch

Has anyone heard of this type of winch, or has anyone tryed them? They have really cheep price and they say that they are used by the Military so I was wondering if they were any good or if we should try them or stay far away from them.

I've been following a thread on this winch on Highlifter's forum and people are really impressed with them. They have all metal gears in them and seem pretty tough. The truck winches they make are bullet proof and it seems that their ATV winches are following a similar pattern.

I belive I read one post on here that said that they did not work under water or something like that, and that would not be very good.
If their winches did work good they would be a lot cheeper than about any other winches out there.

I did some additional research on them and people have been having long-term problems with some components. Save yourself some frustration and just get a Warn (with Amsteel Blue Rope www.rockstomper.com). There's nothing worse than being stuck somewhere bad and having a winch crap out on you.

i have been looking at the amsteel rope for a while and have decided to buy it btu i was wondering if anyone has used their roller fairlead with this rope? does it affect it in any way? And how many feet will fit on my warn 2500?

i have the warn 2500 and i read on the highlifter website said that 50' of the blue steel rope would fit.

I have 50' of 3/16 Amsteel Blue on my Warn 2.5. It is the best thing you can ever get for a winch. An aluminum hawse fair-lead is the best thing to get because a roller has the potential to catch the rope. Either is okay though if used new. You don't want a bur from your wire rope to cut the new synthetic rope. I got my rope and fairlead from rockstomper.com. There is a crimp on the end of it when you get it. Just clip it off and string it through the winch like your old wire rope went.
