foreman and limited slip differential

Default foreman and limited slip differential

Could someone please explain to me how this works? I've heard people say they jacked up their atv and tested it by holding on to one of the front tires. Some have said that there is no pressure at all on one of the tires, some say it's more of a stop-and-go type of pressure on the wheel.
I was stuck in some thick mud one day and out of curiosity I looked, and both front tires were spinning. What gives? How does limited slip differential work on a Foreman ('04, es)?

if the one will slips it will send power over to the wheel that is slipping

The differential in front of that foreman, is a torque sensing type. It can send up to 5 times the torque from one side to the other, so as long as both tires have some resistance, they will both want to turn. The problem comes when one tire is free of resistance( such as climbing over a log and the one front tire gets airborne) then the torque to that tire is zero, and the differential cant send torque to the other tire...unless you provide resistance to the air borne tire( such as clamping on the front brake). Try it...it works like magic.
