Default atv ramps

I just picked up a set of aluminum ATV ramps from Costco. Thy are made by champion and hinged in the middle to load a dirtbike or something and they can be separated apart to load a quad. On the box it says 400 pounds single point capacity, 1000 pounds combined. Does that mean when they are separated i can only load 400 pounds into my truck?? How much does my 300 fourtrax weigh???

Call the manufacturer, but I would think it means each ramp can hold 400. I'm not sure why combined they hold more than double but I'm no physics teacher. Your 300 shouldn't be more than 500lbs.

I can help, It's just the way you read it. One ramp will hold 400 lbs at any spot on the ramp, should bend at 650 lbs. Or around there. Using just one ramp.

Put both ramps together and you got 1000 lbs capacity. 500 lbs on each ramp, what they are saying the hinged adds 200 lbs strength to it with the combined surface area. Or if you ran something up on the ramp that had only one axle with two wheels, it could handle # 1000 lbs of total weight for both tires. Probabilty can handle 1200 lbs for both ramps.

You could drive a small car up them if you went real slow, I've done it before.
