3 wheeler loading ......HELP!!!!
#1
I just got my Big Red a couple weeks ago and recieved my loading ramps yesterday. I got the API tri fold extra long ones since I have a 4x4 Dodge that sits up pretty high. Anyway it said in the instructions NOT to load any 3 wheelers with the ramps. Only four wheelers or sleds. I called API and was told that 3 wheelers will get light in the front and flip over and crush ya. Ok, that is the problem. How do you guys load 3 wheelers onto the back of a pickup? I was thinkin about backin the thing on. These ramps are 83 inches long. I haven't been able to find longer ones and am afraid to use wood ones in the snow and mud. I have the ramps ready to load as we speak but I need some info first.
Thanks for the help

You will be fine riding the Big Red up!!!
Just be shure to lean forward a bit and if you do feel the front start to come up get of the gas and hit the brack (60% front 40% rear) and ease your way down!!!!!!!
Make sure you keep the momentem up!!!!!!
And remember dont do anything that's above your ability!!!!!!!
(I went up a hill that was almost 90 degres the Key is momentum!!!!!!!!!and that was on a 1986 Honda 250SX)
Don't stop in the middle if you do slowly go backwards down the ramp!!!!!
And be shure to keep it in a low gear!!!!!!!!

Sounds like this is a non issue. I guess PSI is just coverin their butts? If it would back up it may be safer cause I can then drive it off instead of backin down the ramps. Anyway I'll give er a go and find out what works. I'm hopein I can slide the tri fold ramps under the Red and along side the front wheel. If not I'll make a little bridge for the front wheel sit on and slide the ramp under it.
Thanks guys

I only had the red on the truck once when I brought it home. We put it in front first by liftin it onto the truck. I have an 8' bed but a saddle tool box in front. It fits perfectly with the box on. It should fit between the wheel wells. I think the width of the red is 46 inches and the bed between the wells is 49 or 50". Well I'll give it a try and see what happens.
