Handlebar Mittens
#2
Greetings,
Yes, I got a pair for Christmas last year. They work pretty well. You just have to get used to not being able to see the shift buttons and other controls.
For them to work properly, you need to make a fairly tight seal around your wrist. If there is a gap, the backdraft will suck through the opening and make your thumb very very cold. Mine have a velcro cinch strap to help snug it all up, but there is an unavoidable limitation to this given that you only have two hands. Its easy to tighten the first one, but then you have no hand to tighten the second.
Overall, I like using them better than gloves. Incidentally, the Sportsman's Guide has lined leather motorcycle mittens (surplus from some European army) for about $15. I sent for a pair just to compare this winter.
