I don't know of any frame being the lightest.
The whole quad varied in weight, but I think the frames were pretty much the same weight.

The 88/89's had the best geometry for MX racing (supposedly).
All years had good geometry though.

The '86 (and I think '87) frames are know to be stronger as they have a few extra gussets from the factory. As far as I know the frame geometry was the same for all 4 years. The 88-89 swingarm and a-arms are the main chassis differences, but the geometry of the actual square frame tubing is the same other than the motor mounts and rear grab bar mounts.
