Does the winch make a noise when you try it?
Mine would not free spool once.Turned out it was bound up on the spool.I had to hook it to the back of my truck, then slowly back up to untange it.

Got home yesterday took the winch and hooked it up to a tree with a strap the pulled on it to allow it to switch to freespool then had to take the winch completely off and unwind it by hand, coming to find out i think it was bound up by mud in all the gears. thanks for the help
