I want to get a new quad but im not sure if i shud get the 450r or the raptor and i dont want the yfz450 so thats not an option can anyone help me out?

 

What do you need this quad to do for you?

 

The raptor is fast but everyone at the trails say they are too tall and handle bad. The seat is high. I have seen early models loose the carb right on the trail and the transmission strips out easy.

The only complaints from the 450r is the 250r's destroy it and first gear is to tall and there is no 6th. Handling is great and the engine can be hopped up but it's expensive at the moment because it's new.

Im gunna use the quad for everything but track racing the only problem i got with the 450r is that it is kick start, does it take a while to start after not starting it for over 2 weeks?

 

for trail use and dunes i would say a raptor because of reverse. i know everyone will say reverse is for sissies but honestly everytime i go hit the trails i wish i had it. if u are gonna buy new i would say get a kfx or z400, they flat out haul. they handle amazing for a stock quad expecially the 05's with the new front shocks. the only place a raptor will beat the kfx is on flat ground and not buy much. an 05 400ex would be nice too.

 

The kick start is a little quirkey until you learn it. I can start mine sitting down. If it has sat for 2 weeks turn on the gas and choke, and give 'er a swift kick. There it's running.

had a raaptor liked it but very top heavy, rode alot of 450r,s and loved them and was going to buy one but then i tried out a atk 450 and had to have that and am very glad i did it, so check atkusa.com there awsome.
