warn winch where do you mount the solenoid? Rincon
#1
Hey guys, we are in the process of mounting a 2500 Warn winch on my 05 Rincon. we can't figure out where to put the solenoid(contactor). There isnt much room under the seat. It is supposed to be near the battery but kept in a place that it wont get too dirty. The battery is inside the rear fender but is covered well. where did the dealer put yours? Thanks

If it's one of the new solenoids, it doesn't matter where you mount it because the solenoid is sealed. In fact, on my 05' Arctic Cat, it's mounted under the front fender beside the winch. That's about the dirtiest place that it could go. That solenoid is always covered with mud, and it's always worked. I think yours is sealed also if you have the handlebar rocker switch.

I am not sure if the Rincon has the little trunk in the rear like the Rubicon or the Foreman do but that is where my buddy and I put his on his Foreman. We had to drill a hole for the wiresto go through the trunk but a little silicone seals it back up once you run the wires.
Hope this helps. Good luck.

On my Foreman, I put the contactor on the outside of the rear trunk, where Warn's directions suggest. It gets covered in mud there, but works fine.
The Rincon does not have that rear trunk. My buddy had the dealer put a Warn 3.0 on his Rincon, which happens to be parked in my yard...
I see they put his contactor behind the front bumper, on top of the winch mount plate (with the winch below the mount plate).
