JMAN, the 'Zuk is a degree better in the major areas like suspension and power. If a bigbore kit might be in the furture, the Quadsport motors seem to handle the extra power and heat generated by such kits more reliably. Having said that, the 400ex is a great quad with plenty of aftermarket support. If you want the Honda, go for it. I would look into pricing the Z400 also and at least use that pricing as leverage. In my eyes, the Honda would need to be a minimum of $500.00 cheaper to be justifiable. Like Wolvy, you might want to look for a well cared for used one. With all of the newer, faster sport quads out in the last few years, the 400EX has become a bargain buy on the used market.
