Is there a difference between Race porting and normal porting. I can get normal porting done for $150, but race porting is $450. Is there a difference?

I called CT racing about there porting, and they said that there is no difference between porting, but Gt thunder differs and says that I can race port my 400, but they charge $450. If I got race porting would I just be getting ripped off.

 

There is a difference in porting. I can't say zactly the difference is between "race" and stock porting on a 400EX, but any four stroke will react differently to different porting. If you're really interested, figure out what you're going to be doing with your machine and then have it ported for that application. While you're at it, upgrade your valve springs, cam, etc. Doing only one part of the job won't help all that much.
